A hyperlocal approach to sovereign cloud: VMware Cloud Foundation across Europe

A shifting cloud landscape

Across Europe, the conversation around cloud strategy is changing. Growing regulatory pressure, geopolitical uncertainty and fatigue with hyperscaler platforms are driving organisations to re-evaluate their IT infrastructure models. For many, the answer is clear – regain control.

As organisations seek greater data locality, flexibility and autonomy, demand for sovereign private cloud solutions is rising sharply, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is fast becoming the platform of choice for this transformation.

At evoila, we’re proud to be helping our service provider partners and end users embrace VCF at scale – not by replicating public cloud models, but by reimagining how private cloud is delivered. Our approach combines hyperlocal deployment with full-service management, giving service providers a new path forward that’s built around control, compliance and speed.

Broadcom’s strength is private cloud, and we deliver that in a hyperlocal way, directly to the service provider’s chosen location.

Scale, focus and unique delivery model

Founded in Germany in 2009, evoila has evolved from a software company into a fast-growing IT consulting and managed services provider. In the past five years, we have scaled from 30 to nearly 500 employees and expanded into 12 countries.

As a VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) Pinnacle tier partner, we now support around 150 customers that have adopted VCF as a managed service, making evoila one of the most active enablers of VCF adoption across Europe. Our end user customers operate in some of the region’s most significant industries, from banking and insurance to government and defence. But scale alone isn’t what sets us apart.

What is special is our offering; hyperlocal managed VCF as a service. The service provider decides where it will be placed and we deliver a private cloud stack to that location and operate it there.

Unlike hyperscalers or centralised providers, we deploy autonomous VCF environments directly at the edge, in regional facilities, on customer premises or wherever needed.

Solving the VCSP transition challenge

Many service providers are facing skills gaps or lack the scale to deploy VCF independently. We help bridge that gap with small-footprint, fully managed environments that make it easy to modernise without having to build out large internal teams.

We also offer flexible onboarding and migration support. Service providers can choose their preferred hardware vendors, and we work with them through the transition with support from Broadcom.

This blend of flexibility, consulting depth and managed delivery is allowing service providers of all sizes to modernise with confidence and remain competitive in a changing market.

Sovereignty at scale

In a regulatory landscape where data control and infrastructure localisation are critical, our decentralised model is proving particularly well suited to European sovereign cloud needs.

Due to this hyperlocal approach, we’ve built up one of the biggest sovereign cloud environments possible. Every stack is autonomous. It’s placed in a facility where the service provider has physical access and ownership. They can protect it, disconnect it, and operate it independently.

All services are run entirely within the European Union, by EU-based personnel. We also hold certifications including ISO 27001, TISAX (T6) for automotive, BSI C5 for critical infrastructure and DORA compliance for financial services.

Impact and adoption across Europe

The results speak for themselves. evoila is now actively driving VCF deployments across key European markets, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Next year, we are looking to sign about 200 additional service providers as customers. We’re making investments in people, culture, knowledge and, of course, the hardware needed to scale our VCSP business.

A key driver of this growth is our support model, which combines deep consulting experience with hands-on operational management. The result is a level of flexibility and speed that many providers cannot find elsewhere.

This approach is winning trust from service providers customers across the region and our partnership with Broadcom continues to strengthen and grow.

A model for the future

As more organisations seek sovereign alternatives to the public cloud, we are demonstrating how it can be done securely, locally and at scale.

Through a combination of smart consulting, decentralised delivery and real-world execution, evoila is helping service providers across Europe unlock the full value of VMware Cloud Foundation.
