What are Broadcom Knights?

Why the name Knight? It is no coincidence that the term “Knight” is at the center of the program. Just like medieval knights, Broadcom Knights are carefully selected, intensively trained and entrusted with special tasks.

Imagine your IT landscape as an impregnable castle. Such a protected fortress needs experienced knights to defend, strengthen and continuously expand it. This is exactly where the Broadcom Knights come into play.

Broadcom describes them as “the most exclusive group of partner technical professionals” – a high-level elite who consistently demonstrate technical leadership and passion for Broadcom software. Those honored as a Knight receive the highest recognition Broadcom awards to partner employees.

Requirements and qualifications for becoming a knight

Broadcom extends knighthoods in the Knight program strictly by invitation and limits them to a select few. The main requirement for this is intensive training and numerous certifications relating to VMware and Broadcom technologies. Only individual, selected experts from partner companies are eligible for this position. Candidates must demonstrate their comprehensive technical knowledge and project experience.

Executives at VMware or Broadcom nominate candidates for the program and carefully review each inclusion. They always award the recognition to an individual, not to the partner company. In addition, they conduct an annual review to ensure that the Knight continues to meet the high standards before extending the status.

The specific requirements include:

• Extensive technical and sales know-how: A Knight must be convincing in the sales and pre-sales phase as well as in the design, implementation, service and support of solutions. He or she combines technical expertise with consulting skills and supports customers holistically – from planning and implementation to ongoing support.
• Various certificates: Corresponding awards are certifications for various products. In practice, this means, for example, that successful exams have been taken for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF), VMware NSX or VMware Aria. Several of these certificates demonstrate a deep understanding of the technology and are essential.
• Willingness to learn and community: Broadcom Knights are regularly involved in Broadcom training courses and specialist events. They actively share their knowledge with the partner community, exchange experiences and give presentations or workshops to help other partners.
• Partner status and commitment: Only employees of Broadcom partners with a higher partner level are eligible. The partner company itself must be registered in the Broadcom partner program and ideally have a consulting-intensive focus.

These demanding requirements ensure that Broadcom Knights are only truly experienced IT experts.

What makes the Broadcom Knights program unique?

The Knights program is more than just a title: it is an exclusive support program for partner experts with special status. Knights benefit from special training courses, training camps and working groups in which they are the first to learn about new product versions and can continuously develop their skills.

Broadcom gives the Knights early insight into product roadmaps and internal resources. This allows them to know at an early stage where solutions such as VCF or NSX are heading and to apply this knowledge directly to customer projects.

The program also promotes exchange among the Knights: they are connected worldwide in a network and regularly share their experiences. This strong cooperation strengthens the quality of advice and the technical edge.

Another aspect is that Broadcom expects its partners not only to sell licenses, but also to achieve long-term customer success.
