A VPN connects a device to the network and then trusts it. SASE, through ZTNA, grants access to one specific application after verifying identity and device posture, and secures internet and cloud traffic at the same time. It is more secure and usually faster than a VPN.

Over time, yes. SASE delivers firewall as a service, secure web access, and ZTNA from the cloud, which can replace legacy VPN and reduce on-premise appliances. We plan this as a staged migration so nothing is disrupted.
