As part of our team of experienced cloud engineers, you will assume responsibility in customer projects following a comprehensive induction program.

About the job:

  • Recording and analysing customer requirements in the Kubernetes environment

  • Creation and coordination of concepts for the development of developer platforms

  • Conducting customer workshops and strategy workshops to set up new or further develop existing platforms

  • Advising teams, also at C-level, on the use of Kubernetes and container technologies and architectural decisions

  • Communicating the impact of architectural decisions on platform usability and operational processes

  • Ensuring close collaboration with other evoila teams and understanding their concepts and solutions

  • Supporting sales by building and maintaining customer relationships

  • Ensuring a long-term and collaborative partnership with our customers

Who you are:

  • University degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or maths or related subjects

  • Alternatively: Completed training as an IT specialist for system integration (m/f/d)

  • Several years of professional experience

  • Confident demeanour, analytical and conceptual skills, ability to work in a team and customer orientation

  • Experience in setting up, designing and operating Kubernetes-based platforms

  • Experience in integrating Kubernetes into existing business/enterprise environments

  • Containers have nothing to do with ships for you

It would be optimal if …:

  • You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the cloud-native/Kubernetes/DevSecOps domain

  • You possess extensive expertise with at least 2 major cloud service providers and 3 Kubernetes on-premise alternatives

  • You can provide in-depth explanations of the advantages and disadvantages involved in establishing large multi-cloud environments (e.g., AKS and Tanzu or GCP and Rancher)

  • You are capable of collaboratively developing a multi-cloud strategy with our customers, tailored to their specific requirements

  • You have a profound understanding of the most commonly used cloud and on-premises infrastructure providers, including their architectural requirements and the architectural impact they have on the Kubernetes platform implemented on top of them

  • You can lead enterprise-level workshops for our customers, using practical examples to illustrate how to design and build a private cloud (the correct way)

  • You possess extensive knowledge of process optimization in enterprises, particularly with respect to organizational processes during the adoption of Kubernetes, and can effectively communicate these concepts to customers in workshops

  • You can create a comparison matrix for the most critical Kubernetes tools and components, enabling data-driven decision-making (e.g., CNI selection for a Kubernetes infrastructure with C-level explanations of the pros and cons)

  • You have experience in implementing Kubernetes and containers in edge environments and can design a modern platform tailored for these specific use cases

  • You have delivered numerous presentations at conferences within the cloud-native field

  • You have a minimum of 4 years of experience in roles similar to a Senior Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Deine Aufgaben:

  • Aufnahme und Analyse von Kundenanforderungen im Kubernetes Umfeld

  • Erstellung und Abstimmung von Konzepten zum Aufbau von Entwicklerplattformen

  • Durchführung von Kundenworkshops und Strategieworkshops zum Aufbau neuer oder Weiterentwicklung bestehender Plattformen

  • Beratung von Teams, auch auf C-Level, zum Einsatz von Kubernetes und Containertechnologien und Architektonischer Entscheidung

  • Vermittlung von Auswirkung architektonischer Entscheidungen auf Usability der Plattform und Betriebsabläufe

  • Sicherstellung einer engen Zusammenarbeit mit anderen evoila-Teams und Verständnis ihrer Konzepte und Lösungen

  • Unterstützung im Vertrieb durch Aufbau und Pflege von Kundenbeziehungen

  • Sicherstellung einer langfristigen und partnerschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit mit unseren Kunden

Was Du mitbringen solltest:

  • Hochschulstudium der Informatik, E-Technik, Physik oder Mathematik oder einer verwandten Fachrichtung
    Alternativ: Abgeschlossene Ausbildung als Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration (m/w/d)

  • mehrjähriger Berufserfahrung

  • Souveränes Auftreten, analytisch-konzeptionelle Fähigkeiten, Teamfähigkeit und Kundenorientierung

  • Erfahrung im Bereich Aufbau, Konzeption und Betrieb von kubernetes-basierten Plattformen

  • Erfahrung bei der Integration von Kubernetes in bestehende Business-/Enterpriseumgebungen

  • Container haben für Dich nichts mit Schiffen zu tun

Optimal wäre es, wenn …:

  • Du über mindestens 8 Jahre Erfahrung im Bereich Cloud-Native, Kubernetes und DevSecOps verfügst

  • Du tiefgreifende Erfahrung mit mindestens 2 Hyperscalern und 3 Alternativen für Kubernetes on-premise besitzt

  • Du ausführlich erläutern kannst, welche Vor- und Nachteile bei der Einrichtung großer Multi-Cloud-Umgebungen bestehen (z. B. AKS und Tanzu oder GCP und Rancher)

  • Du gemeinsam mit unseren Kunden eine Multi-Cloud-Strategie entwickeln kannst, die auf ihren spezifischen Anforderungen basiert

  • Du fundierte Kenntnisse über die am häufigsten verwendeten Cloud- und On-Premises-Infrastrukturanbieter hast und die architektonischen Anforderungen sowie den architektonischen Einfluss verstehst, den sie auf die Kubernetes-Plattform haben, die auf ihnen aufbaut

  • Du Workshops auf Unternehmensebene für unsere Kunden leiten kannst und anhand praktischer Beispiele vermittelst, wie man eine Private Cloud (auf die richtige Art und Weise) entwirft und aufbaut

  • Du über profunde Kenntnisse zur Optimierung von Prozessen in Unternehmen im Hinblick auf die organisatorischen Abläufe bei der Einführung von Kubernetes verfügst und sie Kunden in Workshops erläutern kannst

  • Du in der Lage bist, eine Vergleichsmatrix für die wichtigsten Kubernetes-Tools und Komponenten zu erstellen und auf dieser Grundlage Entscheidungen zu treffen (z. B. die Auswahl eines CNI für eine Kubernetes-Infrastruktur mit C-Level-Erklärung der Vor- und Nachteile)

  • Du Erfahrung damit hast, Kubernetes und Container in Edge-Umgebungen zu implementieren und eine moderne Plattform für diese speziellen Anwendungsfälle entwerfen kannst

  • Du viele Vorträge auf Konferenzen im Bereich Cloud-Native gehalten hast

If you feel comfortable in a cloud technology like OpenStack, CloudFoundy, AWS, etc. or you know a lot about a virtualization technology like VMware vSphere, then you’re in the right place with us. We will also train you as a cloud engineer or cloud architect.

After about 1 week, you will know whether we want to get to know you. Then you will be invited to an online conversation.

Your document should contain a personal address as well as your CV and your previous qualifications such as school, study, certifications, certificates, etc. A picture of you can also be included in the letter as well as your salary requirements.

After an online conversation via Skype, Zoom or another online tool we will provide you with a simple task. You will bring along the result of the task to a personal conversation in one of our offices. When everything fits, nothing will prevent us from hiring you.

Usually the conversations (online and onsite) take place with you, a potential team leader for your position and a human resources representative.

We evaluate your score using a point system. That is based on your documents, the interview, the personal impression and the result of the small task.
