Unit Lead – Managed Services (m/f/d)

The Managed Services department ensures that our customers receive top-class IT services and that their systems run reliably and efficiently. Our team consists of a Business Unit Lead and three specialized teams, each led by a Unit Lead. Each team has clearly defined responsibilities and areas of expertise to develop tailored solutions for our customers.

As a Unit Lead, you play a key role in leading and developing one of these teams. You take responsibility for innovative solutions, strategic decisions, and close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for you – starting immediately, either at our Mainz location or remotely within Germany.

Your Role

As a Unit Lead (m/f/d) in Managed Services, you will be part of a Europe-wide team, leading a group of nine experts who deliver contractually agreed IT services to our customers. You will be responsible for activities related to VMware, backup, server operations, and our evoila Cloud platform.

In addition to the technical and disciplinary leadership of your team, you will manage daily operations, plan resources as needed, and ensure compliance with our service quality standards based on ITIL. You will monitor processes and optimize workflows to deliver our promised services efficiently.

About the job:

  • Disciplinary leadership of the German team (annual reviews, feedback, development plans, salary negotiations)

  • Organizational management of the European team (on-call planning, resource management, escalation handling, task prioritization)

  • Technical leadership and development of the entire team (performance reviews based on KPIs, ensuring regular certifications)

  • Onboarding new customers according to defined procedures

  • Internal and external reporting for customers and management

  • Supporting the Business Unit Lead in financial calculations for offered services

  • Ensuring efficient ticket processing and continuous workflow optimization

  • Quality assurance of documentation and promoting knowledge transfer within the team

Who you are:

  • A completed technical education (e.g., IT specialist for system integration) or a comparable degree

  • Strong service orientation and excellent communication skills to manage customer expectations effectively

  • A structured, independent, and goal-oriented working style

  • Fluent German language skills (C1 or higher) and English skills (B2 or higher)

It would be optimal if…:

  • You have experience in second-level support, customer support, or IT infrastructure operations in hybrid cloud environments
  • You have knowledge of Jira Service Management and Confluence – ideally with certification

Unser Team besteht aus einem Business Unit Lead und drei spezialisierten Teams, die jeweils von einem Unit Lead geleitet werden. Deine Rolle

Als Unit Lead (m/w/d) im Bereich Managed Services bist du Teil eines europaweit agierenden Teams und führst ein Team aus neun Expert:innen, das für unsere Kunden vertraglich vereinbarte IT-Dienstleistungen erbringt. Du übernimmst die Verantwortung für Tätigkeiten in den Bereichen VMware, Backup, Serverbetrieb und unsere evoila Cloud Plattform.

Neben der fachlichen und disziplinarischen Führung deines Teams steuerst du das Tagesgeschäft, planst Ressourcen bedarfsgerecht und stellst die Einhaltung unserer Servicequalität nach ITIL sicher. Dabei überwachst du Prozesse und optimierst Abläufe, um unsere zugesicherten Leistungen effizient zu erbringen.

Deine Aufgaben:

  • Disziplinarische Leitung des deutschen Teams (Jahresgespräche, Feedback, Entwicklungspläne, Gehaltsverhandlungen)

  • Organisatorische Steuerung des europäischen Teams (Rufbereitschaftsplanung, Ressourcenmanagement, Eskalationshandling, Priorisierung von Aufgaben)

  • Fachliche Führung und Weiterentwicklung des gesamten Teams (Leistungsüberprüfung anhand von KPIs, Sicherstellung regelmäßiger Zertifizierungen)

  • Onboarding neuer Kunden nach definiertem Ablauf

  • Internes und externes Reporting für Kunden und Unternehmensführung

  • Unterstützung des Business Unit Leads bei kaufmännischen Kalkulationen der angebotenen Services

  • Sicherstellung effizienter Ticketbearbeitung und kontinuierliche Optimierung des Workflows

  • Qualitätssicherung der Dokumentation und Förderung des Know-how-Transfers im Team

Was du mitbringen solltest:

  • Eine abgeschlossene technische Ausbildung (z. B. FISI) oder ein vergleichbares Studium

  • Hohe Serviceorientierung und ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, um Kundenerwartungen souverän zu managen

  • Strukturierte, selbstständige und zielorientierte Arbeitsweise

  • Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch (C1 oder höher) und Englisch (B2 oder höher)

Optimal wäre es, wenn…:

  • du Erfahrung im Second-Level-Support, Kundensupport oder IT-Infrastrukturbetrieb in hybriden Cloud-Szenarien mitbringst

  • du Kenntnisse in Jira Service Management und Confluence hast – idealerweise mit Zertifizierung
