Layer 1:
Foundation – hardware and licences from evoila

  • Hardware, workloads and data remain in your data centre, with a familiar self-service experience
  • VCF subscription through evoila’s framework agreement with Broadcom – you no longer need to negotiate licences yourself
  • 24/7 platform operations including monitoring, incident response and defined SLAs
  • Patching, upgrades and compatibility management for the full SDDC stack
  • Backup and disaster recovery: management components included as standard, workload DR available as an option

Can I keep my existing hardware?

Yes, in many cases. We first assess the condition and lifecycle of your existing infrastructure, as well as how it fits the new commercial and operating model.
You can often continue using your existing hardware initially. When a refresh is due, evoila can provide the replacement infrastructure as part of the agreed setup.

Where will the infrastructure be located, and who will have physical access?

That is for you to decide. The infrastructure can remain in your data centre.
You retain control over the location and physical access, while evoila supports the planning and implementation of the agreed operating model.

Does evoila supply the new hardware for the setup?

Yes. evoila provides the server stack, including HCI, and can also support the network design where required.
We plan and deliver the solution in close collaboration with your team.

What happens if I have received a termination notice?

If you have received a termination notice, we first review the relevant contract dates, existing customer commitments and your technical environment.
We then agree a structured transition plan designed to safeguard service continuity and move towards a viable target model.

How will my committed cores move to evoila?

The exact process depends on your current Broadcom agreement and the planned transition date.
After a joint review, evoila coordinates the required steps with you and Broadcom. Before the transfer starts, we document the migration plan, contractual responsibilities and commercial implications, with the aim of minimising avoidable overlaps.

How can I estimate my core requirement if I do not yet have exact figures?

Start with your vCenter inventory and identify the physical CPUs and their core counts.
As a general rule, each CPU is calculated with a minimum of 16 licensed cores, even where the processor has fewer physical cores. We validate the resulting commitment with you against your current contractual setup.

How does onboarding work?

During onboarding, we deploy the agreed metering and management components in your environment where required, complete the necessary licensing steps and introduce you to evoila’s tools and service processes.
This ensures that the platform is set up cleanly and efficiently.
