In the AI Assisted Development Assessment, we work directly with the customer’s development teams and analyse how they operate today.

The goal is to reliably identify:

  • Where the use of AI in the development process creates the greatest added value first
  • How mature teams and the organisation already are regarding AI-supported development
  • Which business, technical and organisational requirements must be met for successful adoption

Objectives of the Assessment:

  • Identification of quick wins and prioritised use cases for AI Assisted Development
  • Assessment of the AI readiness of development teams (skills, tools, processes, governance)
  • Understanding of the existing toolchain, architecture and framework conditions (security, compliance, data)
  • Joint development and evaluation of AI use cases (e.g. code completion, test generation, bug fixing, documentation, legacy modernisation) based on benefit, effort and risk
  • Derivation of a high-level concept as the basis for the jointly defined target state

Duration

The duration of the assessment depends on the size and complexity of the development organisation and typically ranges between 2 days (smaller teams / focused scope) and 10 days (larger or multiple development teams, complex environments). Afterwards, the concept document is created. We currently estimate 4–20 days for this (approximately twice the analysis effort).

Results (Deliverables)

As the outcome of the package, we create a high-level concept that includes, among other things:

  • What is working well, what is not working well, where the challenges are
  • What requirements the customer has (e.g. regarding performance or compliance)
  • Summary of the key findings regarding processes, toolchain, and AI readiness
  • Prioritised list of suitable entry use cases including assessment of benefits and risks
  • Initial recommendations on architecture and tooling options (e.g. cloud vs. on-prem, model classes, integration points)
  • Identified areas for action in organisation, skills, governance, and security

This high-level concept then serves as the basis for jointly defining the target state of the customer’s AI Assisted Development strategy.
